Small Business Saturday, Black Friday's chill cousin. Here's everything you need to know.
For so many reasons. In fact, we have a whole article on it. But basically, Black Friday is a huge marketing scheme to get us to spend more money for sh*ttier quality products.
Small business Saturday falls the day after Black Friday. It's about championing small businesses though, not about getting you to impulse spend. You can shop at small businesses at any time of year.
It’s all part of shopping more consciously and eco-friendly. Why’s that? Because shopping small allows you to:
🛍️ Put money back into the local economy
🛍️ Buy products made from local materials, that haven’t been shipped from the other side of the world
🛍️Shop intentionally, rather than impulsively
Shopping small doesn't even require going to small businesses in person, for those of us who don't live in a cute cozy town like Gilmore Girls' Star's Hollow. It’s easier than ever to shop small, thanks to the miracle of modern technology.
